Lazio and Rome: one region, two different worlds

The region south of Tuscany and Umbria, Lazio, has a diverse landscape with volcanic lakes and fabulous hills. Lazio's natural borders are the Mediterranean in the west and the Apennines in the east. We offer properties for rent in two of Lazio's regions, dotted with pleasant villages of historical importance and splendid villas and churches of absolutely stunning beauty. Each season has its own enchantments. Rome, where history and modern elegance meet, is obviously one of Lazio's highlights. Both the capital and Tuscany's southern region and Umbria are within easy reach of the properties that we have on offer in Lazio. The region can conveniently be reached with the Autostrada, coming from Milan and from Rome's international airport.

  Lago di Bolsena and Viterbo
This area, wedged between the south of Tuscany and the city of Rome, is of unrivalled beauty. This area is also the centre of the ancient Etruscan culture. Cities like Tuscania, Tarquinia, Pitigliano and Sovano have a history dating back to far before our era. Tarquinia also has vast beaches. The volcanic lakes of Bolsena and Vico are splendid for water sports, bicycling and walking. Viterbo has a carefully restored medieval city centre and is a pleasant town. In the surrounding area you will find many outstanding villas dating back to the sixteenth century, like Villa Lante and the Palazzo Farnese. The city of Rome can also easily be reached from here.
  Sabine hills
This area owes its name to the Roman legend of 'The Rape of the Sabines'. Olives are important in this area in between the city of Rome and the southern part of Umbria. The softly rolling hills make this perfect scenery for lovely bicycle tours. Ideal for romantic and carefree holidays in wonderful countryside dotted with picturesque villages. Train service to Rome is excellent. People from the Sabine region are very friendly and hospitable; they will be proud you?ve picked 'their' region as a destination for your holidays.
